The Road to Rivendell
Twice a week, I've been making this one hour trek that starts right outside my door. Called the Tribute Trail, it takes me in a loop down to the suspension bridge over Deer Creek. From there I climb up switchbacks to get back into town, crossing another bridge to get back to my side of the creek.
It is so lovely and serene, although just a few minutes from home. It reminds me of the approach to Rivendell in Tolkien's Lord of the Rings trilogy.
The sign reads Bullwinkle Ravine. I haven't seen any elves, but I am fairly sure there are fairies in these parts.
